Planning a corporate video? Here are some steps on how to plan for a corporate video

Looking for out-the-box thinkers? Let's get connected.

Generate interest, capture new leads & drive sales growth with high-quality professional video content.

Define your goals.

What do you want to achieve with your video? Do you want to increase brand awareness, generate leads, or educate your audience about your product or service? Once you know your goals, you can start to develop a message and a storyboard that will help you achieve them.

Identify your audience.

Know your audience, their needs and interests. Once you know the “WHO”, you can tailor your message and tone to resonate with them.

Create the message.

What do you want your audience to take away from your video? What is the one thing you want them to remember? Your message should be clear, concise, and persuasive.

Work out a realistic budget.

How much are you willing to spend on your video? This will help you determine the resources you will need as well as the scope & scale of the production.

Plan the distribution.

Where will you broadcast your video? Will you post it on your website, social media, or other channels? Once you know where you’re going to distribute your video, you can implement the promotion and marketing strategy.

The type of video you want to create.

Will it be a product explainer video, a company overview video, or something completely out of the box?

Storyboard your concept.

Once you have a general idea of your video, it’s time to start putting the blocks together. A storyboard is a visual representation of your video that will help you visualize the shots, the flow, and the pacing. This is a great way to ensure that your available resources are utilised correctly. A well planned production ultimately will save you money in the long run.

Write your script.

If you are not a professor in literature, no stress, this is where a professional scriptwriter can assist you with the script. The script should be clear, concise, and engaging.
A well-produced video does not only need to have stunning visuals, it needs to sound amazing as well. Consider hiring a professional voice over artist to help with the narration.

Shoot your video.

This is where your vision comes to life! Be sure to have a clear plan for the shoot and to work with a professional video production company.

Video editing.

This is where we add the finishing touches to your video. We will edit the footage, add music and sound effects, and create the title sequence.

Here are some additional tips to keep in mind when planning your corporate video:

No one likes a Yawn-fest.

Keep it short and sweet. Nowadays people have very short attention spans, so your video should be no longer than 2-3 minutes.

Shoot with professional gear and produce high-quality visuals.

Your video should look professional and polished. Be proud of your business and bring that forward into your video. Bring in interesting shots. Work with your editors to grade your footage to match your vision and to set the mood. Use typography, strong visuals and other motion elements to keep your audience engaged.

Most important, tell a story.

Video allows you vast avenues and directions to emotionally connect with your target audience. Your video can have lasting impact on your audience if produced well.
Use clear and concise language. Your audience should be able to understand your message without having to read subtitles or think too hard.

Test your video.

Show your video to a few people before releasing it to the public. This will help you to identify any problems and make sure that your message is clear.

Planning a corporate video can be quite the task. Yet it is worth every moment to properly plan to ensure your videos budget is utilised correctly & ultimately the final output benefits your business and helps you to achieve your goals.
